Christmas Favourites!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Hope everyone had a really great and well deserved break. My break ended yesterday and I couldn't even wait to see the little two year old I nanny this morning. I must admit, its pretty great going back to "work" when your "coworker" (lol cute) is just as excited to see you. I had a nice relaxing Christmas, spent with family, wine, and WAY too much food (yeah right). My boyfriend, sister, and I do not eat meat and this was our first christmas not indulging in turkey, sausage rolls (a family delicacy), and every other meat dish thrown our way. We did however make our very first Tofurky (I know, I can just feel all the jealousy) for Christmas dinner. It tasted EXACTLY like turkey and it had the EXACT same texture, so that was cool. I also made a delicious  mushroom gravy to go with it. All of our family members were super sweet and made us some special vegan meals and treats, so thoughtful and so appreciated! What did you guys have for Christmas din? Anyone else a veggie/vegan? :)

Here are a few of my fave things I got for the holiday;

1. Davids Tea Nordic Mug: keeps my tea warm, looks adorable, AND changes colour?! YES PLEASE

2. Joe Fresh Rain Bootie: These are the MOST comfortable boot I have worn for a while, and you really can't beat the price of Joe Fresh. I highly recommend these!

3. Dolce & Gabanna Rose The One Perfume: Fave perfume, it is so subtle and elegant. Perfect for practically any occasion, and it doesn't hurt that my boyfriend loves it too!

4.  LUSH New Charity Pot & LUSH Drummers Drumming Bubble Bar: If you haven't already become obsessed with all things LUSH, and do not currently shop their online website every other day, then I suggest you look them up now. They specialize in bath and body products, using natural ingredients. Their scents are to die for, and their bath bombs are world famous. I can not say enough good things about LUSH, I'm addicted to so many of their products, and my family was hooked the minute I let them use the Charity Pot hand cream. GO CHECK LUSH OUT NOW:)

5. Cream Tulip Shade Scentsy: The shade on this scentsy is incredible. It basically looks like its covered in glitter when its lit up. I WANT 100.

6. Manrepeller Novel: This book is gold. Its hilarious and I love it. Its basically about how women dress to impress other women with fashion statements that send men running.

7. The Grand Budapest Hotel Movie: I actually bought this for Kyle. I had been dying to see it as I love Wes Anderson films, but it unfortunately was not playing in any nearby theatres. When we went to Iceland in the spring it was one of the movie selections on the plane. We watched it on the way to Iceland and again on the way back to Canada. Its funny, filmed beautifully, and of course our darling Lord Voldemort plays the main character.

8. The Mat: lululemons The Mat yoga mat is super cushiony and I no longer slip while downward dogging. I definitely needed an upgrade from my old, flat, worn out mat, and I'm glad it was to this one.

I also had a few favourite clothing items;

What were your favourite Holiday gifts? Any fun holiday traditions? Be sure to comment, I'd love to hear about them! And don't forget to leave your email in order to get quick blog updates!:)

Happy Holidays, going to go drink some wine now!

Sunday 21 December 2014

Hey and hello!

So hey and hello, I'm Alicia and welcome to my blog. I am a twenty something year old nanny (thats right, a nanny), and am currently deciding what in the world to do with the rest of my life. Actually I find that sentence a little awkward, why would anybody want to pick ONE occupation, one single career for the rest of their lives? Whats that quote, "Who you are defines what you do"? Well I guess I'm just trying to figure out what my personality defines. BUT on a lighter note!

I am a nanny to the cutest little boy, and I love going to "work" everyday, so I guess thats something. In my opinion its pretty great having a two year old best friend because a) you can tell them all of your secrets with no judgement, and b) they hug and kiss you anyways.

I decided to write this blog to share fashion ideas and ootd's, with some diy's, and of course a few ramblings here and there. I will be 25 (eeeeeeeep!) in less than 3 weeks, and have decided it was time to start checking some things off the ol bucket list, one of them being to write a blog. SO here goes nothing.

Today Kyle and I decided to wrap all of our presents. I am of course no Martha Stewart (you go girl!) at wrapping. Kyle however is, like its freaky. He actually just showed me a present which he (somehow) managed to line up the print on the wrapping paper on all the sides and corners?! LIKE WHAT, GO AWAY and leave me ALONE to my taped up ball of a present! (love you).

Christmas tree 2014

Isn't this wrapping paper to die for? I love a good pastel!

And of course every girl needs a pink christmas tree ♡

Are you guys all excited for Christmas? I cannot wait! Happy Wrapping!
